Remortgage Questions:

Question:
How quickly will I get my cheque?

Answer:
We deal with a range of lenders, and depending on the lender, you could get your cheque in as little as 3 weeks, from sending in your signed application form.  Other lenders can take a little longer

Question:
I have a mortgage with the local authority - can I apply for a remortgage?

Answer:
Yes.  Usually it is very beneficial to swap your mortgage away from the local authority, because the rates they charge are usually much higher than we can get for you

Question:
I have a shared ownership mortgage - can I remortgage?

Answer:
Yes.  By the nature of the shared ownership scheme, you will have to remortgage at some stage, or you will never fully own your home.

Question:
I'm a few repayments behind on my mortgage.  Can I remortgage?

Answer:
Most Banks and Building Societies won't consider offering you a remortgage if you are in arrears, or if you have a less than perfect credit history.  However, even if you have arrears, judgements, or a bad credit history, we may be able to help you.  There are a couple of new mortgage providers who will help out when the other lenders aren't interested.  The mortgage is more expensive, but it may give you the opportunity to make a fresh start.  When looking for a quote,
please outline at the bottom of the form, how many payments you are behind etc.

Warning:  This new loan may take longer to pay off than your previous loans.  This means you pay more than if you paid over a shorter loan.

Warning:  Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.
